It's hard to tell since this whole chapter is in italics but I'm assuming they are talking in the present tense so this should be: "I don't want to lose you either."

"They traveled in silence for a while before Nick finally said, “I didn’t want to lose you either.”

Nick and Greg together after the service was right on the money. You captured their voices perfectly.
