Zuko shrugged, chewing absentmindedly on the celery stick in his mouth. Normally, he avoided vegetables like they carried the plague, but one couldn't afford to be picky when made the unofficial leftovers disposal unit without all the fees.

He wasn't feeling particularly social, not since Ty Lee vanished, and since it was apparent that everyone he had ever cared about was fated to be suddenly and unexpectedly snatched out of his life, he wasn't up for setting himself up for the inevitably crushing disappointment.

"Why?" Because his natural curiosity was going to damn him straight to Hell one day and he couldn't help asking.

"I'm going to hit a place I know for dinner before I go home to bed. Do you want to come with me?"

Aang offered a kind but sheepish smile, like a kid about to be caught doing something he shouldn't.

"You just look kind of down this last while. I thought maybe a good meal might pick you up."

"I'm fine," Zuko replied. He wasn't really too keen on the idea of hanging out anywhere, but Aang did mention food and anything was better than the celery in his mouth. He spat it out, watching it hit the concrete. He wasn't about to turn down a good meal. The only thing that irked him was that if he wanted anything decent to eat, he was going to have to pay for it and pigeons in the park were starting to dwindle down now that winter was here and he was eating several birds a week.

"I guess. What kind of food place is it?" Though, truth be told, it didn't really matter that much to him. Food was food was food.

"It's a Chinese place, the food is a bit like stuff I had back home. They do this buffet serving style where you pay a certain amount and then go and pick out what you like from the trays."

Aang grinned, knowing that this was where he could say the six words that would totally sell Zuko on this idea.

"Ten dollars, all you can eat."
