I'm going to see it Monday. Very excited! Saturday I am watching people watch a hockey game, then going out.

Watching people watch sports is far more entertaining than watching sports, in my view. But apparently the party is now less hockey oriented and more drink-your-face-off-before-going-to-Malfunction oriented. Which was my intention for going in the first place.

Haunting. Street of Crocodiles got me in a constant deja vu state, later I understood that their work has been used as reference so many times in music clips, specially.

Have you seen Jan Svankmajer films?

I have indeed. He's referenced an insane amount too, if you know what to look for. (Have you seen the Gwen Stefani video for What Are you Waiting For? Banal lyrics, but the video is one of my favourites.) I find film-makers like the Bros. Quay are sort of meta, in that when a group of film buffs get together, they talk about people like Terry Gilliam and Jean-Pierre Jeunet get together, they talk about the Bros. Quay.

I had to leave the room during the Mad Hatter's scene in Svankmajer's ALICE. The mechanical repetition was too reminscent of nightmares I've had while sick with fever dreams. The Greeks thought of hell like that, a place of pointless tasks done over and over.
