Oh! I just loved this! Your Colin was spot on with my Colin and I love it because we've only seen him a few times in the actual comic!

The world came into a cold clarity around him that he’d never felt before. Fear he’d known, however fleeting, but all consuming panic was just not something that even happened to him.

This is really something, because Damian did have fear kind of trained out of him, I guess. But really, until you meet that person, that someone who makes you feel like that... it's hard to explain, predict and comprehend. I love that Colin, little ole Colin, gives him this fear.

Says a lot about Damian and how much he is capable of love; how much he needs it.

Oh! I just loved this whole thing! Sweet, funny, warm and adorable! Write more!

OMG thank you! Since I love your Damian and Colin voices so much it's really comforting to know that you think I got 'em right. And the whole fear thing is something I like to play with when writing Supers. They face such terrible circumstances all the time that I think they're numb to most fears but certain conventional terrors can take them utterly unawares.

Okay I'm awake and hopefully coherent enough to form a decent enough reply!

First, as I stated before, I LOOOOOVED IT.

Second! You amaze me with how you can get a scene to come out without sacrificing the characters personalities. Damian is just as I would picture him should this happen to him. Colin is adorable and Dick is the awesome big brother he always is.

The scenes flowed so well and I loooooved the way you described:

It was such a beautiful way of wording it and I knew the exact feeling he was going through!

Yes! I'm always worried about getting characters properly represented in my stories and hearing that everyone was authentically characterized is great to hear. I hope you enjoy whatever I write next =)

Awesome! Thanks for pointing out the typo and as for the 'doofus' thing I wanted Damian to be... well not as insulting towards Colin, even in his internal narrative, as he was to others. I couldn't come up with a word that wasn't either cold and cruel or cutesy and infantilizing, which is my bad on account of being the writer. If any alternatives occur to you would you let me know?

I always worry over whether or not what I find amusing in my own writing will translate well to the reader, so knowing you thought that was funny is helpful to me! Thanks for enjoying the story and the social ineptitude of one Damian Wayne =)

Let me start by saying "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~". Ok, now that I've gotten that out of the way...

This was...amazing. The way you write Damian is so incredible. I love the mix of calculating wonderment and cold rationality he has while observing Colin.

How could Colin be so happy with so little? And take pleasure in stupid, simple things like cranes unloading an oversized boat?

I absolutely love that line. It's just such a beautiful contrast between Damian and Colin's mindset. And I love how Damian's CONSIDERING him without even REALIZING it. FFF <333

The pacing in this was wonderful, not too fast, not too slow. Juuuust right~ From the kiss, to the nerve-strike, then the slight hand touching. Omg. I love how disjointed they are, uncertain, and so obviously YOUNG. Their confusion on exactly how to go about whatever it is that they may feel was clear and transitioned beautifully.

Damian and Colin are really interesting to me because they have this whole added element of class struggle beyond what you usually get with the bat couples. I mean it's present with the rest of them, but with Damian and Colin it seems so inescapable, between Damian's attitude and Colin's circumstance and their respective ages.

I had a *lot* of fun writing these guys sooooo encourage away!

Oh yes~ Agreement. They're like flip-sides of the same coin: Rich and unhappy vs. Poor and content. It's a very nice contrast <3 And the age thing is a particular love with these two, cause it just really opens up a whole world of possibilities <3
