I loved the scene where Dormé wakes up to Anakin arguing with R2 haha that was cute loved how she fell asleep to his admittance (that he'll be fine so long as she's with him).

It's cool too how she could sense something was off about Jamilla but how she didn't stray from her mission in portraying PAdmé to learn about it.

That's probably my favorite scene in the chapter. It's kind of Anakin's eureka moment, in regards to the prescient dreams he's had about marrying a slender young brunette woman. Dormé doesn't realize it yet, but that's the moment when he figured out that he doesn't just love her, as a friend, but is actually in love with her. And of course, Artoo had to scold him for being so dense that he didn't realize it before, because it's Artoo, and he always seems to know these things before anyone else does. (I think he probably either laughed at or scolded Obi-Wan, too, back in the day, for being caught so off guard because he was developing feelings for Sabé and Padmé and they were both in love with him.) *Lol ( ... )

I'm surprised that Dormé talked so much about Padmé, to be honest. I know she's a devoted handmaiden, but Anakin started asking her about herself and she started talking about Padmé instead. It felt a little off to me, like it was just cutting Padmé out of the scene in the AOTC book and pasting Dormé in instead. Maybe I have to reread it.

OK, I reread it, and my interpretation now is that she just doesn't want to talk about her past =/ I don't know if I'm way off...

I think that was my favourite scene as well (the R2 bit) XD It cracked me up.

Hehehe, yeah, I had fun writing the scene with Artoo and Anakin and a very sleepy Dormé. That little droid tends to have a better handle on what's going on than his humans do, so I figured he would've figured out that Dormé's the one for Anakin way before Anakin did.

Yeah, this is kind of maybe spoilerish, for those who haven't read the story I wrote about Dormé's mother for my You Became to Me AU series (a lot of which holds true for this Dormé's mother, too), but Dormé is extremely uncomfortable talking about her past. She's basically deflecting him (or trying to deflect him), by shifting the conversation there more towards Milady and/or politics in general ( ... )
