...but why is it cold though

Nov 27, 2010 22:45

[The climate on this island has been turning, ever-so-subtly, over the last few months; the leaves on some of the trees changing colors and falling to the ground, the cold winds sweeping in a bit more frequently as time goes by. And today? Well, if you're in the right areas, there's snowfall ( Read more... )

[Receptive to both humans and Pokemon, huh? How about faeriefolk?

Since she's not in the forest at the moment, this slightly tanned, particularly short Yellow is wearing her hat. It helps hide her green-tinted hair and distracts from her delicately pointed ears, so you may or may not notice that she's only humanoid.

She's watching the snow too, so hopefully you don't mind her bumping into you.]

Oh! I'm sorry!

[Well, why not? Especially considering that no, he actually hasn't noticed; after all, he was equally distracted, and wasn't expecting to run into anyone.

Of course, once she's made contact with his chest he steps back rather quickly, his gaze darting downward; he isn't terribly wary of her, as she looks humanoid enough and his concern has never really been what humans do to each other - he's a bit sheltered in that regard, one could say.]

Ah, no...hello there.

[The greeting is blunt and more than a little automatic, but his expression is calm enough.]

I'm really sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going. The snow is just so pretty.

[Erg, so embarrassed! She bumped into a total stranger!]

[The second apology gets her a bit of an odd look - she's...already said that, after all, and so N doesn't see why she's apologizing again - but he doesn't correct her; the mention of the snow, however, draws his attention skyward again.]

It is very pretty, yes. [He reaches out, letting a few of the crystals land on his hand before looking back at her.] I don't know why it's falling now, though - it's not quite the season.

[Though N's answer is obviously aimed at the girl asking the question, and he does glance at her momentarily to acknowledge her, it isn't long before his gaze darts upward to rest upon that Piplup settled on her head; his attention remains focused there as he speaks.]

Yes, I think so.

[How unusual that the Pokémon should be kept like that - it's clearly hers, but...most trainers imprison their Pokémon. It's welcome, just odd.]

You're a trainer?

[He returns his attention to her fully at that second part, his gaze questioning.]

A coordinator...? I'm not entirely sure what that is - but to answer your question, I am a trainer, though I admit that traveling that sort of path bothers me.

[There's a Shinx running around and frolicking in the snow. SNOW IS STILL PRETTY NEW, which means it's automatically awesome.
And... oh he it's N 8D
Running towards you now]

[Ah, hello there! You seem pleased - good, good! He'll just be crouching down in the snow to greet you, then. Befriending attempt, get.]

[Heyyyyyy! 8D
.... except you don't smell like the N we know and Ears isn't with you....
Oh well, N is N. Coming towards you to see if we can get pettings!]

Isn't it nice to meet you...

[akjbkndhbjkhsafjd of course you can get pettings! Or, well, you can have an extended hand for now, but pettings will surely follow.]

[He's interested in seeing another double of his and he approaches calmly. When he's close enough he could see that he is bewildered. This mean he just arrived, likely. It reminded him of how he was when he first arrived but less nervous.]

Hello.

[Doesn't mean he's still isn't clueless with interacting with 'new' people, even himself. Beside him as always was his trusty Zoroark who was twitching his nose at the similar scents drifting into his nose... same, but not the same... Look the same but not quite... He's beginning to sense that odd feeling of doubles he talked about with a friend not too long ago.]

[...!]

Hello...

[There's a bit of a wary edge to the word, the last syllable decidedly drawn-out, though he has to admit he's curious; this was...unexpected, to say the least, and he takes a moment to look this newcomer over.]

Such a paradox - impossible for one to be in two places at once. And yet, here we are.

[Any anxiousness in his initial reaction is fading somewhat, pushed aside in favor of a smile stemming from an almost childlike fascination.]

Ah, this is interesting.

[This N is pretty down, edging to being depressed; so his excitement is very much halved. His sense of humor is tickled by the mention of paradoxes and so he smiles softly at that. Amidst his smiling he sensed the discomfort but curiosity of his companion. He gazed down at the sitting fox and petted him on the head.]

[And so the pokemon speaks for him.]

You just arrived here, didn't you?

[He couldn't help but twitch his nose again and again. He was only briefly around the first double who had a vastly different scent and behavior... but this double was a little more similar. This double also still had his...child-like fascination his N had not too long ago.]

Pika chu pi pi pi---kaaaa!

[Don't mind the Pikachu and Hippopotas as they frolick around before colliding into your legs. Hippopotas manages to stay on her feet, looking a little confused while Pikachu falls back, looking dazed. Glancing up, Pikachu is quick to get back on his feet and he bows slightly in apology.

Sorry! They didn't see you]

[A-Ah, no worries! The initial contact startles him a bit, as N hadn't seen them either given that he was distracted by the snow, but he recovers quickly enough once he realizes what's going on. He does glance around briefly - he doesn't see a trainer around for either of them, though either way, the fact that they're out and about like that is probably a good sign.

He smiles a bit at the apology; consider it accepted.]

It's quite all right.

[Pikachu beams in reply while Hippopotas gives a little squeak of surprise once she snaps out of her confusion, ducking around Pikachu to hide. Pikachu sweatdrops and gives a little shrug. Seems like Hippopotas was still shy around new people.

Suddenly, it occurs to Pikachu that he hasn't heard a greeting from his trainer yet - looking left, looking right, looking behind him. Turning back to N, he begins to mime, pulling at his face to mimic Ash's face before putting his paw to his forehead, miming a search for something.

They are looking for their trainer. They seem to have lost him while playing tag. Have you seen him?

Of course, N probably doesn't need the pantomime, so Pikachu's efforts may have been wasted]

centrifuged November 28 2010, 07:37:51 UTC
[Well, the pantomime wasn't exactly necessary, no, and if anything he looks a little...er, alarmed at the facial distortions, though once the reason dawns on him, he settles. So this creature's trainer can't speak to him...hm. And yet -]

No, I haven't seen anyone yet. Would you mind if I helped you find him?

[They seem to be looking voluntarily, after all; at the same time, he would definitely like to see exactly whom he's allowing these Pokémon to return to, and under what condition of treatment. While the one's response looks more like shyness than anything else to him, he can't just let them go off in good conscience without verifying for himself.]
