I will tell you my thing. Imagine if, instead of killing Ruby in 4.22, she got away, and instead of Meg being a presence in S5, we get Ruby intstead, following Lucifer 'her father' around and doing his bidding. All the while, she keeps running into Sam, who now hates her, but there's still some twisted affection there, and they have epic love/hate scenes where Sam is mostly trying to kill her and Ruby is just like "Oh, honey, join us."
