Quick summary: so I did really like S6, but I think the show is not quite aiming so big conceptually and has really improved on execution during these episodes, particularly 3,4, and 5, so if you're on the fence, yeah, I recommend. This post is pretty long because there's still a lot going on, most of which I really like.

Skipping the bulk of the post, obvs, but glad to hear that S7 is an improvement. I'll put it on my to-do list, I think.

I've enjoyed it quite a bit. It seems to be making a pretty deliberate effort to get back into "classic," pre-angel mode, and it's doing a pretty good job, I think, although the pacing of the season villain arc isn't going so hot. Lots of good brother stuff happening, though.

I miss the angels! But yeah, the tone of the season is generally pretty good.

I think you'd enjoy it for the most part. Without spoiling, I think a lot of the big issues with Dean are being drawn out, and the stuff with Sam continues to be fascinating.
