I love the parallels with Scott's expedition, and that Spike's so very not keen on that. He remembers history, but he's afraid he's doomed to repeat it, anyway. Tsk. Also, feral Spike is made of win.

I agree, though I suppose I milked it a bit, given we only see it once in canon. Never mind. I do have a Thing about Buffyverse vampires as wolves, and in this fic I've really indulged it.

I think the dogs just ran when the demons set them loose and reconvened later. They seem to be very clever dogs.
