Wow, that was great! I love how wide-ranging it was - so much to chew over. Even though a lot of it was Spike's thoughts it didn't feel heavy at all, just meaty. And such a well-earned happy ending too. :)

(I have to say, I was a bit worried this was going to be too Spangely for me, but it wasn't. I'm really glad I read it.)

And yay for the Catullus!

Thank you! I enjoyed reading it, and I'm glad it wasn't too heavy. It was kind of more poetic than my usual, but that's kind of fun for a change. I do like Spangel, but this was sort of Spangel-lite. *g*

And I *had* to include a Catullus poem than mentioned Aurelius, didn't I? *g* That year of Latin I took did me some good, anyhow.

I agree--Latin = good. But I never suspected when I took it that it would come in handy when writing slash. :-)

I really like the logic of this, turning back to the start, with what looks like a much less even trial but is actually much fairer and more merciful - even happy! Which isn't at all where I would have expected this fic to end, so congratulations on pulling it off!

Hi. I've finished reading this now but am unable to comment on every part due to a bad flare up of my RSI.

I did find parts of it very hard to get through - the sheer injustice of it got to me a bit - but ultimately I enjoyed it very much and the end made me all sniffly.

It was pretty bleak at points, so I'm very glad you enjoyed it in the end. Thank you!

I'm very sorry to hear of your RSI--hope you're feeling better quickly. I'm looking forward to reading your story!

I cried my way through this one. Lovely and sobering, with a moral framework that satisfies me.
