Dryer conked out last week, so finally got a repair person out today - to his credit didn't even blink at the two opossums in the living room and two more opossums and a groundhog in the basement, lol. It needed a new thing that the belt runs over, and the inside had gotten clogged with lint, in a place that needed the whole back dismantled to ( Read more... )

Three loads of backlogged critter laundry accomplished today, w00t! About three more to go, of course, not to mention human laundry, but everything goes so much faster when the dryer actually dries everything the first time 'round :D

It was fun, but omg am I sore today! And my knees have bruises. Note to self, knee pads if I decide to crawl about on a brick path for two hours again next year, lol

It was so much fun! And the crawling was also fun, at the time - the bruises didn't come in until later, alas!

Why is it electronics - and machines of all types - seem to conk out at the MOST inconvenient moment?
Though, it's probably just discovered there's a problem, and not that they chose that moment to fail.

At least this repair person seems to take not-normally-pet-animals-inside in stride. AND was able to fix it on the spot.

Heh.
if it scares people and is for a good cause, (being the spirit of the season) enjoying yourself helps a lot.

The dryer had been taking longer to dry for the past couple of months, so I could have gotten it looked at sooner - I just kept hoping it would magically fix itself!

Usually when I have repair folks in I end up doing a whole mini nature program, explaining all the critters in the house and why I have them - not that I mind doing that, but it was nice to have someone there to just get the job done :)

Very cathartic ^_~
