A mark of your station is not just the clothes you wear. A pauper in robes of a noble is still a pauper, a noble in the clothes of a pauper is still a nobleman. Losing a cheap haori does not affect your status as a shinigami captain.

A cape does not make you a better shinigami either, Kamina.

Why do you choose to spout nonsense instead of actually getting to the point?

Forgive me, I've been trying to enrich the young and eager mind with Shakespeare.

Is there something wrong?

Why not Japanese poetry?

No, nothing that I would discuss with you.

No, it makes you overzealous. Shinigami uniforms are simple for a reason.

"The uniform is specially designed to prevent enemies and the surrounding environment from hindering the Shinigami," I know already. 'm not gonna go out there when fighting for real with my cape. Don't mean I can't keep it.

No, the shinigami uniform is a symbol of your pride. Do not cheapen it, nor should you flaunt it.
