Welcome to PKMN_Tournament.
This is the post for the first tournament held here and will cover all the rules and people taking part.

If you are not part you must wait until next month when we will run another, but with even more people allowed in.
How it works
Each week a mod will match up opponents by pulling names out of a hat and then they will battle with a pre defined set of 3 pokemon and the loser will be knocked out and the winner advances to the next round. This will contnue until only one person remains at which point there will be a 2 week break before the next round starts.
People will have to make contact with their opponent and arrange a time to battle between themselves, some contact info can be found at http://community.livejournal.com/pokemon/435286.html?view=5213526 but the best way is to leave a comment on their LJ and exchange IM names.
Once a battle has taken place both players must reply to that weeks contest posting with the same result. The posts must contain the following.

Winners remaining pokemon :
Names (or pokemon species name) must be included so as to confirm both players battled the correct person.
If you fail at making contact and battling by Thursday a coin will be flipped and a person randomly dropped out of the two. A mod will do this and it is final.
The first week will be to level your 3 pokemon up, every week proceeding it will just be making contact and battling unless some custom rules come into play in later tournaments.
After the tournament you are free to do what you wish with your 3 pokemon, they are yours after all. :)
Round 1 rules
You may only use the 3 pokemon you are given. Only these 3 and no more. They are randomly picked from a set of 60 eggs and cannot be changed in any way shape or form.
All pokemon 3 pokemon must be level 10 and not over. If you over level your pokemon you will be dropped.
No TMs or HMs allowed, no move tutors or anything otherwise.
No items allowed in battle. This includes hold items of any sort.
The following attacks are BANNED, using them will instantly remove you from the tournament.
Dragon rage, Night shade, Sonic boom and seismic toss.
If your opponent uses it please report to the weeks post, the person must show a mod the pokemon in question to show their move set. If the moveset is free of illegal moves the battle must be redone.
All 3 pokemon must have some sort of nickname and their level 10 stats recording on a post here at pkmn_tournament
Evolution is allowed and you may use evolution stones, leveling up (if up to level 10) or trading to achieve this.
Disconnecting in mid match means the match will be refought, if the same person disconnects twice under suspicious situations (aka about to lose), they will be declared the loser by default. If two people have connection problems it should be noted between both parties to avoid cheating this way.
If some idiot (aka me) accidentally bred a HM or TM onto a pokemon it must be deleted. Unless the pokemon naturally learns the move up to level 10. This will not happen in later rounds since bucue will stop being an idiot while he whores a ditto in the future. This also applies to any moves it learns beyond level 10.

Please leave a comment when you are ready to connect with bucue to trade your 3 eggs. Catch 3 random pokemon so you can recieve the eggs before you log on wifi. bucue will be keeping these for an evil master plan involving bidoofs and a giant wheel.
You will need to join the community to get updaes on your friends page or if you would like to watch as the rounds go by you're also welcome to join and cheer on your friends or perfect strangers.

EDIT : Vitamins and macho brace are allowed when raising, it is only in battle items and TM/HMs that are not allowed.
