This barely counts as a problem, but in my ineptitude, I replied to the index thread in such a way that the fic title/link ended up at the top instead of at the end, where I assume it was supposed to be. Whoops. I don't know if that needs to be fixed.

I should have noticed that Nico had a thing for Annabeth. It had been there since we escaped the Labyrinth, when he’d been up for listening to her but doing that stubborn-as-a-rock thing with me. It had popped up again when Annabeth and I left camp before junior year, when he’d moped around for days after he found out that Annabeth was going to school in the city with me. And the way he kept popping up in the subway when she was on her way back to the dorms. And - well, like I said, I should have noticed that Nico had a thing for Annabeth.

What I’m pretty sure I couldn’t have noticed, or expected, or even dreamed about was Annabeth. More to the point, Annabeth, curious, crazy daughter of Athena that she was, deciding that she really, really wanted to experiment ps also everyone was legal.

Annabeth’s naked body pressed up against mine, which ordinarily would have been pretty nice, except that Nico’s body was pressed against hers, and I wasn’t especially happy to be the fully-dressed third of the Annabeth sandwich ( ... )

She finds Zoe outside the garden, weeping. She’s lying curled in the grass, small and half hidden by the shadows of the garden wall, like the sun disappearing over the horizon.

Artemis lies down with her in the long, sweet grass and embraces her, and whispers to her as the last light spills red and faint across the sea. He left, but this is not the end. And in the goddess’s arms, Zoe’s tears dry, and her shoulders stop shaking.

When Artemis stands, she offers a hand to the girl in the grass. Zoe takes it gladly, and follows the goddess into the moonlight.

ii.

For the first years, she weary whenever they make camp, worn out as she calls the wolves to the tents and slips under her blanket. But she realizes, early on, that when her mind and body are busy following the goddess, she has no time to think of the fair-haired hero, or of the garden or her sisters.

By the time she adjusts to the life of the Hunt, she has eyes only for the movements of the moon, and hardly thinks of her old life at all.
