Right. So. Piano lesson was terrible as predicted, had a massive cry about it. It's just really frustrating, because my teacher doesn't have much experience teaching upwards of grade 6. I'm doing grade 7. It irritates me mostly because I am incredibly picky with which pieces I like. I like lyrical songs with a nicely defined melody. Would prefer

Maybe you should consider going to another teacher? Even if it's just for a couple of lessons. To get a new perspective and some new pointers. Also, it's a good motivation for practicing. You don't even need to tell your current teacher that you're seeing someone else! Although it might not be good for your conscience. I think your current teacher should really recommend another teacher to you. My old teacher sent me to someone else because she felt that she wasn't able to help me any more. Though she later said that she regretted sending me away. But it was definitely helpful to be learning from an older, more experienced and slightly more expensive teacher. I should really start lessons again sometime soon.

That's a good idea. It would definitely work for me if it was just for a few lessons, though it does evoke a bit of guilt. I guess that's because I've only had one piano teacher everrr (well, and an organ one, but anyway). Thanks for the advice. Sometimes it really does take having someone else to suggest something before I can believe that the idea is not completely dodgy.

hey hope u are feeling bette *hugs* I fractured my elbow last week and have been a homebound hermit prone to fits of tears and finding even typing painful so nothing useful is getting done. And I keep going to play the piano and remember I only have one hand. The irony! As I never play it when I have both.
