piano

This year, I'm going to practise piano properly. As in, every day of the week and not just when by chance I remember to do so. But! Because I am incredibly lazy, I really don't know how long it is appropriate to practise for each day, you know, without killing ones hands. Normally I do the bare minimum, or 45 minutes if I'm feeling really motivated ( Read more... )

duuuude. good luck with that. I don't practice every day, and i'm supposed to be teaching others to play the damned thing!
i try to practice every day but usually fail. to compensate for the usual short practices, i do a really long practice like 2 hours or more. I try to do this at least twice a week. Not sure if i succeed, i've never kept track.

Also, i can never be consistent with technical stuff. Rather, i focus only on repertoire, and when i get to a bit in a piece that sounds dodgy, i'll play some exercises that are relevent to that particular passage.

In short, i've never been the best practicer, and all my peers who were the same level as me years ago are now better than me, so...*shrug*

Thankyou for your informations! I've been looking around the internet and looking at some books at the library and it seems the general concensus is just do what suits you best if you're not looking to be a professional pianist. Which suits me fine :)

Hey man, if you ever want to hang out, go out on a weekend or anything, let me know. I've been feeling lonesome lately and there's really no little point in both of us being lonely if we don't need to be, right?

Seriously, think about it and let me know. I reckon you'd be good fun to hang with :)
