It will pass, once the novelty wears off, which should be any minute now.

You know what's pathetic?
I spent the whole day today playing Civilization 3. I had the day off, I had things planned, my plans got changed, I had other options, but no! I decided to install Civ 3 on my computer, the very game I have had sitting on the shelf for nearly a year because I know I'd never turn it off once I turned it on. I just emailed off my research proposal and CV, stage one of my Master's application. I'm all nervous in the tummy and plan to cure this by spending more money than I really should. (Since I, for whatever reason, have today off of work...)

SKUNKS!
My neighbourhood is completely overrun with skunks. Last night I was making dinner and all of a sudden our kitchen started to smell really funky. Sammy wanted out, so I opened the door and got a good nose full of skunk stink. Now, my brother's room smells pretty stanky, but this was much, much worse.

Seriously, when I saw the weather report that there's a chinook coming in this morning, I almost cried I was so happy. Other things that made me happy? Today was my last day in the GQ, tomorrow I start my online training. I'm very excited about that. A little nervous, but, excited. It was nice, my team had a pot luck for me. I had an interview for the online specialist posting today. It went really well, and I was talking to my team leader this afternoon and he really left me with the impression that I pretty much had it before I walked into the interview, so...I guess my chances are pretty good. Today when I got on the bus to go home for work, guess who I ran into? One of my friends from junior high! We always used to see each other around the halls at the U of C, but always in passing so we never really said more then "hey!" Apparently as a U of C alumni I can no longer access academic journal articles from my home computer! Dammit! Now I'm going to have to make a trip up to the U of C and hopefully they still let whoever sits down at the computers have access to the library database. That and I may have to actually search the physical journals. I don't need a ton of ( Read more... )
