A found an ancient website a couple of friends and I created about ten years ago - a very old friend of mine still has it mirrored on his server. I'm not going to give you the link, it's in Swedish anyway, but this photo was on it and I can't resist posting it.

I've seen far worse eyebrows than those (as have you I'm sure...lol cybergoths :P), but yeah, your current style is much cooler. I love how you do your eyebrows!

Oh yes, and I have never done that to my brows. :D My conscience is actually completely clear on the whole cybergoth issue - I think I was a little to old for jumping on bandwagons when it became the big thing in the scene, and the early adopters around here looked ridiculous most of the time.

I have lots of ancient photos on two old hard drives that I can't access without some fiddling. Sometimes I think that I should do the work and put together a history of rivethead fashion, so those kids these days can see that there was a scene and a style before the alien eyebrows, plastic goggles with rivets sticking out of them and neon fake hair... :) I know that had a few gorgeous photos of people who are five to ten years older than me in their best EBM regalia, back in the late 80's and early 90's. Those were the days.

Even when I was young and impressionable and it was what all the gawth clothing companies here were doing (still often is) I fairly rapidly realised that the shaved eyebrows and neon cyber look really really really wouldn't suit me. I've seen a few look good in it - typically very slender, elfin-faced girls - but a lot of cybergoths look like idiots :P.

I think you should do that, it sounds like it'd be mega-interesting. Although it makes me feel horribly young, since I wasn't even born until the late 80s D:!

Yes, and so many people do a half-arsed version of the cybergoth thing - which is one of the main problems with that style, I think. You have to go all out, make yourself look completely unreal and do it very well for it to work. Very high maintenance, half a centimeter of brown roots or a shakily drawn eyebrow ruins everything. It definitely does favor very thin girls, too.

I like looking at it when it's really well done, but that goes for any style..

Yes, quite so! I think I was actually trying for the innocent look, while considering myself quite sophisticated and experienced, like one does at 20.. :)
