An Irish wake...picking_losers style!

Feb 21, 2007 07:48

It's been x amount of hours, West Coast airings of 1.14, "Mars, Bars," are finished, and while angel_grace and I do encourage tactful spoilerlessness, I thought it was only fair to throw up a little post mourning the death of any potential for canonical Lamb/Veronica. There's always fic, there's always AUs, but ah, Don and Veronica, we hardly knew ye ( Read more... )

Love the wording ... *lol*

Unfortunately still in Brainfreeze to be witty. Later.

Heh. I heard ROL apparently spoiled half their friends list with all the screaming last night, so I'm trying to avoid the same blunder.

And, yeah, I wholly understand the brain freeze!

Well, the word wake in you title kind of made the rest obsolete *g*

Ahhh, memories. I would have to say the most powerful V/Lamb scene for me, was the "She cries..." scene. Followed up by the satisfied smirk he shot her in the next scene, in present time in the pilot when she gives him that little 'gotcha' hand motion.

What might have been...Sigh...Well, I think I have pretty much everyone in VM who does *not* consider Logan/Veronica to be the end-all-be-all, and I've seen many posts comparing VM to BTVS, in that very similarly to Buffy, Veronica has big time sexual chemistry with a thorn in her side, and it seems preposterous for years that they might hook up until they do and they literally bring down a house...And it gave me hope.

Gah, I make no sense. I'm no good at wakes. I'll be outside having a cigarette.

The "She cries..." scene really was powerful. I mean, to date it's the scene that everyone associates with Lamb.

Too bad Lamb and V. never had the chance to make the roof cave in around them. Sigh.

You know. If Lamb stuck around a few more seasons, I could actually imagine that happening. I so thought that in a few years, Veronica would finally get around to Lamb and the pair would burn up the screen.

Noooooooo! And I was amazingly good and didn't click before I'd watched it. I was thinking 'what on earth happens to cause Mala to mourn?' Somehow I never thought it would be that!

Heh, I was thinking of going over to RoL but I fear that the page might be too soggy to read.

I do hope that the dribble of fics on this ship continue though. After all, it was always a fantasy ship really!

I think they've passed soggy and are at the "frothing" stage. *g* But, yes, fear not, the fics will continue and the fantasy ship will sail on!

And congrats for resisting the urge to click and not guessing what would make me mourn! :).

Monimala, I'm mourning too.

What really gets me was that Lamb and Veronica were finally starting to act civil around each other. And, he kept tossing V all these "come hither" looks all season. *sigh... Oh the lost potential.

I know! They had actually progressed to a point where they had a decent working relationship, complete with only partially hostile banter! It's a shame we'll never get to see where it would've taken them.

I consider it such a waste of good chemistry and tension on screen AND writing-wise. It was like their relationship was at the peak of potential energy -- both of them standing on the tallest cliff together, and all that was left was the falling and all that delicious kinetic energy waiting to happen.

Well... paranormal romance is hot these days. >:^P
