Goodbye "Darkness Over Collinwood"

Always back your stories up! ALWAYS!

I have to get this off my chest. I can’t vent to anyone, especially the person I should be venting to in the first place, so my journal will have to do.

I am a fucking idiot for trusting people I write with. Last night I got a call from R who I have been writing Dark Shadows with on her forum for many years ( Read more... )

You definitely have a reason to be upset as in UPSET!!!!

What she did was wrong. At the very least she should have given everyone notice so they could copy their work before it disappeared.

This is a prime example of someone reacting without thinking how her actions will affect those around you. I'd stay clear of her in the future if I were you.

Problem is she's a good friend. I just should know better than to think my work is safe anywhere online. I started backing things up when MySpace started changing everything and I did copy everything from my Facebook notes to my computer so that is safe. It's odd for her to do some thing this rash since she was so paranoid about a former this very thing with the other writers. After we were done with a scene she'd lock it so we couldn't get back in and delete anything, since she got burned by someone who DID screw up the story lines by deleting everything she wrote about her characters.

I'm not even trusting LJ or Dreamwidth to keep my stories safe since they could suffer a crash and all my work could be lost anyway.
