Why Can't Every Weekend Be This Long?

Nov 02, 2011 07:19

Today is the first workday of the week for me. The 1st of November is a catholic holiday, so in Bavaria everyone has the day off. So with only one vacation day, I got a four day weekend. I really could get used to that. What I don't want to get used to is being up at this ridiculous hour. It's 7:20am and I've been at work since 5:30am!

Long weekends are just the best, aren't they? And the next best thing is the short weeks that follow them!

Sounds like y'all had a great one in spite of the car. Mr. Pphoenikx's possible job sounds really cool! Definitely crossing fingers for that. I didn't know BMW did anything but cars!

Hope you don't have too much trouble staying awake today! You are a good girlfriend!

Yay for short weeks! It feels wrong somehow that already there's only two days left. But so good at the same time.

I didn't know BMW did anything but sponsor the team either (the were called BMW Oracle after all). But apparently they were involved with a team of engineers that were on site for the whole process. Not sure how invovled they're going to be in the future, as their two best and most qualified engineers up and left and started their own company. BMWs loss, boyfriend's gain. Really hope this will work out somehow, but at the same time I do not dare think about it too much in case I jinx it.

Thank god for flexible working hours. Coming in at an ungodly hour meant I could leave early. I managed to stay awake and even productive until 2:30pm and then took off.

up at 4:30? eeek! I'd be asleep part way through the afternoon if I did that lol.

Sounds like you had a good weekend though, and the possible job option is great news :)

we had a really quite weekend, since hubby was working for most of it, so I have nothing to report really.

Eeek indeed! I was actually a lot more productive today than I would have thought. But I'm totally crashing right now. Trying to stay awake another hour or so, because it's not even 8pm yet, and then off to bed. Lol, I can't remember the last time I went to bed this early.

I envy your quiet weekend. That's just one thing that's not really possible in a long distance relationship. You always feel like you need to cram two weeks worth of time into one weekend.

o0o0oh, good luck with the boyfriend! that job, your boss...it's DESTINY! lololol. it was a four-day weekend here, too. not that i have work or anything. as far as i'm concerned, every day is a weekend :D our family (we were 15 in all, there were two more who were not able to go though) trooped to the cemetery Sunday afternoon, for prayers and general gabbery, then we had dinner at a pizza place in a popular casino/mall/hotel in a nearby city. jeebus, the place was packed. no, i didn't play. i couldn't stand the smoke (my sister later told me there was a non-smoking section upstairs, zoinks) and i just went for tea (how very briddish)

wow. snowboarding. that must be an amazing experience. i've never even seen snow in person, let alone touch it.

Thanks, hun. There might be more development on the boyfriend/job front... Will report if I know anything for certain.

Was it just a regular Sunday cemetary visit or some type of holiday? I'm asking because Tuesday was All Hallows, a catholic holiday, where you honor the dead and people usually go to the cemetary for that. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to my mother's grave since she's buried in Berlin.

You told me before that you've never experienced snow. This just seems so incredible to me, since I grew up skiing and playing in the snow each winter. Really looking to get as much boarding in as possible this season. That was one thing I didn't like about Berlin. The fact that it's too far from the mountains.

You did some major networking for your boyfriend and that makes you not only a good girlfriend but a great girlfriend.

I am sorry your trip to the zoo was dissapointing but if you want to look on the bright side you did get to spend some quality time with your love.

Got to love those long weekends and it sounds as if you made good use of yours.

I spent Halloween in class but my daughter and son had a blast.

Lol, thank you for the praise. I despise networking, but I'm beginning to see its usefulness.

I'm sorry to hear you couldn't spend Halloween trick or treating with your kids but had classes. That's too bad. At least it sounds like they had fun without you. I'm guessing that's what every parent wants to hear ;)
