Who are you - like you really want to know

Meme from out_there, amongst others. It's Saturday, and what else is there to do?

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all ( Read more... )

You get the two 'l's thing too, huh? WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?!

I have no idea! I even get Hilliary sometimes too which makes even less sense!

I used to know someone called 'Hilaria'. (She was very posh.) I bet she had even worse problems. But, being posh, she probably had better things to do. Ride roughshod over small animals, that sort of thing.

This meme is surprisingly interesting, if only for the sake of being nosey. I must say, though, "JobQuest" makes me think of wizards and dragons, and wonder if you need to carry a large sword to survive it. (Job hunting certainly feels like that.)

And, unlike the person who set this meme, to learn grammar.

HEE! I hadn't even noticed how horrible that question was, but that comment made me chortle out loud.

There are lots of others of whom I'm very fond, but, again, I don't want to list every single one - it would take forever, and you can bet I would still miss someone important and offend them mortally.

Oh, man, yes. The more detail you go into, the higher chance of accidentally hurting someone's feelings. It makes no sense, and yet it's so true.

I don't know whether JobQuest requires a sword so much - in my present mood, it might be a good idea to keep sharp implements away from me - but a suit of armour might come in handy, to help deal with the constant rejection.

I'm pretty sure that 'grammatical meme' is a contradiction in terms, but that question was even worse than the usual standard.

Making a 'my bestest LJ friends' list is a bit like writing your speech for the Oscars: you remember to thank your publicist and the woman who fitted your dress, but forget to mention your co-star. Wank ensues.

I am endlessly and unhealthily interested in other people's lives, so there can never be enough memes of this type for me.

A lot of my FL is in its 20s. 40s, at the very utmost. Sadly, the 40-something group I joined is utterly boring. They will talk about their children, as though that were the only thing one could do with one's life.

I think the one who suffers the most is my friend Lesley. Outside of the UK, absolutely no-one believes her name is not Leslie.

Well, it's true. When I got into SN, you and Annie were already quite established writers, and you were both very friendly and welcoming. It does make a difference.

Awww thank you for mentioning me, Hi'ary, (is that more or less irrating than Hilllllllary...? *G*)

My brother gets very upset by people who use two l's in Philip. (However Philip, the surname usually has two l's in it, so one can understand it more with that.)

After discussion at work this week, have been told that I can do LJ if I just use it as a way of displaying craft work and don't mention anything too personal. Which is timely, since I have just carved a small snail out of boxwood,(as yer do...), and feel the urge to put it somewhere. Snails are hermaphrodite of course, so I shall call it Hi'ary in honour of your unisex name.

*glares, and removes your name from list*

I sympathise with your brother, which is not something I ever expected to hear myself say. 'Philip' means 'lover of horses', btw. Hee.

Be careful what you post - don't go putting your job at risk for the sake of LJ. Like you need me to tell you that!

Apparently it is fine if I just post craft stuff and the odd book review. (And seeing as how often I CREATE craft stuff, then t'will be few and far between....)

I knew that about Philip and lover of horses...

I am apparently "loved by God"...well you could have fooled me!...
