I forgot to mention that a paper that I worked on the summer before last (2004) at Cornell is going to be published in the Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society. This is pretty exciting because I did a majority of the work done by the undergrads on the project and it's a regular journal, not one designed for undergraduates. It's my ( Read more... )

Out of curiosity, was your work based on a notion called "tornado solutions?"

I remember hearing a talk at an AMS Sectional Meeting in Albuquerque, NM about such things. The speaker was a prof (possibly postdoc, he looked young) from Cornell University, and the results arose out of an REU project.

Anyways, it's a stab in the dark. At the very least, it was a good talk, though I forget the particulars.

That's exactly the project actually. I worked with that postdoc and it was on tornado solutions.
