This is FANTASTIC. I LOVE John telling Derek, Derek listening, Derek having come to love his nephew even though he hated future John Connor. I love the idea that Dr. Sherman is a significant and crucial influence both on John and on Skynet...something that twines their destinies and fighting patterns even more inextricably.

I LOVE your tense, closed-off Sarah asking but not asking for Derek's help, and the tiniest of smiles as a thank you, as well as your and Derek's tacit knowledge that SARAH is the commander of this unit.

Right after I watched the premier, the first thing I said was, "John killed Sarkissian. Sarah couldn't have."

And this interaction you've got going between Derek and John is excellent.

I really like this - it's very sweet but also realistic considering what they endure. I agree with the pov that Derek on the show doesn't seem to like future!John AT ALL, and kind of thinks he's a bastard that happens to be necessary for the species' survival. And then he has to reconcile that with his protective feelings for a kid who is his nephew and looks just like the brother Derek spent his life protecting. I think that tension between the 2 Johns is really brought out here in your fic, both with Derek's feelings and John's feelings about himself.
