Thank you!! I think Nick is very screwed up about love in general, you know? I'm constantly surprised that he's not ten million times more fucked up than he actually is.

Oh man. Your Nick. He's just adorable and mixed up and I love him so much. I also hate him family with the power of a thousand fiery suns. Him trying to so hard and they just throw it back in his face.

I can see him going through all his bandmates until finally he finds someone that wants him back, and really. Nick is smart, he just needs to have faith in himself.

Thank you!! And yeah, I watched too much House of Carters not to understand how awful and fucked up their family dynamic is. You have to think Nick is the least fucked up of them only because he didn't really grow up in his house with his parents. Backstreet was really the best thing that could've ever happened to him.

He does need to have faith in himself. Maybe he's not the best reader or writer, but you can tell he's smart enough from the way he talks. He's like the opposite of JC :P

JC, when he bothers to write his own blogs, is fucking hilarious. And understands the rules of grammar, and can spell! But he can't talk. At ALL. He sounds like an idiot during interviews.

Whereas Nick is like, practically illiterate, but he's a good talker. He's not afraid to make fun of himself or be adorable on command.

Someone should write that fic. I call not it!

...he lets them go on believing he's dumb because he's saving the truth for a surprise. first sentence that got my attention. and i loved the repeated adjective here: Nick's favorite time most days, when everyone else is off doing their own stuff and he's just alone with Brian, quiet quiet.

...when Brian pulls him into a supply closet at a venue and says, "This is gonna be the best prank ever," and his smile is wide and uneven and makes him look slightly insane and a goofy as hell... Because if Brian is just Brian and he still wants to be Nick's friend, that means something. Nick thinks maybe it means everything… really cool observation of the whole brian/nick dynamic. i liked the characterization here.

He wants to hit Aaron's smug little face but he can't so instead he gets in a fight with Kevin and only feels a little bad when he sees Kevin's black eye and Kevin doesn't talk to him for a month.
AJ says, "I told you so." i liked how you didn't go in to detail to explain what you meant here. the fact that he takes things out on the

Poor Nicky. He needs to date some nice people! Like, not fame whores or starfuckers. And AJ too. So you know, they should just date each other, because yes! I'm pretty sure that's the solution!

Oh, wow. This is so lovely. The dynamics between Nick and everyone, Boys, family and Paris, are all just perfect. And the passage of time goes so smoothly, with a great sense of Nick growing up as the story moves along. Beautiful.
