Seriously, this is really interesting and I have to admit to a certain amount of dissatisfaction at the ending. There will be more, right? You've let us inside their heads just enough to intrigue, you tease, you.

Um, I don't think there will be more. The end is really supposed to be listening to the mix, so the music sort of says what happens next, if that makes sense. I like to think they fall in love and live happily ever after though, in their crazy alien ways :)

I love this so much from a fan angle AND from a literary angle because it's like this intensely post-modern image of what our culture is like and how everyman is an island, but doesn't really know it. Seriously, I could write an essay on it.

Mostly, though, I LOVE unmeshable face and Oedipus and the supremely powerful sense of dissasociation and unrecognized personal misery. But you already know all that.

Well I think, you know, people hear "no one gets out of here alive" and they think it's bad or something, but really, if you think about it, it's the one thing we all have in common. Everyone's gonna die at some point, right? So no one gets out alive. So we're all connected, just by virtue of being human and being aware of the inevitable. So Jared, really, is the one who's gaining personhood throughout, and he's trying to pass it on, to form connections.

And yeah, I totally just pulled that out of my ass. But uh, that's probably what I meant, right? :P

I loved the fic. I have to admit, though, I'm more in love with the music choices. Untouchable Face followed by A Long December, then A Fond Farewell and Someone Saved My Life Tonight? And Tom's Diner. That kills me in a way usually reserved for pretty pretty porn. Sound porn, that's what that is, and damn does it make me grin.

And let me join brynwulf in clamoring for more, more, more, possibly with a rebel yell.... yeah, maybe that last coffee was too much and I should off the mp3 player.

Yay, I'm actually glad you're more in love with the music because um, I kind of wanted it to work to tell the rest of the story (because I'm lazy, and that way I didn't have to!) I thought about writing more, but I wasn't sure what came next. If I think of it, maybe there will be more, and Jensen can make his own tape :P
