The ones around here ONLY take brand stuff. They won't take anything from Uniqlo or Muji or any of that. So I was really impressed when I went into my first Japanese thrift store because it was way high end stuff for cheeeeeap. (Of course, they also seriously coveted the Harley Davidson shirt we brought, sooo....)
But then there's this place called the Big American Shop here which only sells US brands and it's so expensive. Apparently, my mother-in-law saw a t-shirt there and it was 9,800yen!
i'm not surprised. when i first came here i was looking at some levi jeens and they were 10,000 yen. stuff i'd normallly wear in the states is like double or triple the price over here.
