Hello, friends! So I realized the other day, that, well, people read my journal who are not me. Which led to me composing this brief, but magical introduction.
Which basically tells you, look! There are links in the side bar of my journal page!
pentapus is a fannish journal more for reading fic than for writing it. No need to ask as far as friending goes, but unless you drop me a comment about it, I probably won't notice. Fic and art is all public on this journal, unless it's a WIP. Fair warning, I'm not a fan of overly informative warnings on fics. I'm one of those people who think trailers spoil the movie.
Useful links:
1.
Index of Fanfic and Fanart and etc. - links to my SGA fic here and on
sga_flashfic. Also some Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers fic (see tags).
2.
Memes. this is actually a gross misuse of the word meme, as they exist only on this journal and are not contagious. I am rarely motivated to do things on my own. I like requests, even though I can't answer all of them. Or most of them. I'm not, uh, prolific you might say. For example,
Anything Goes Art/Fic Meme. The all purpose request meme, technically still open. Or
timestamp meme, also too neat to be closed.
Useful tags:
fic - only finished fic.
ficlets - short snapshots which aren't part of a finished fic.
art icons - a mix of icons from caps and from my art.
recs meme - responses to memes like the art/fic meme or doodle drabble.
rw - Ronin Warriors. (also
rwfic)
There is an SGA tag, but it covers the majority of the entries in this journal, so... just scroll down.
ETA: Ok,
marycrawford wants the important stuff.
The Important Stuff
I chose the name
pentapus because I had this t-shirt, made by a local artist named
Will Heron (it used to be my default icon). I was very proud of it. Really, really obviously proud of it. "Isn't my octopus the coolest? Isn't it?" proud of it. Until I asked this question to Chris, the ecology major. Chris without pausing, or even looking interested, said, "That's not an octopus. That's a pentapus," and kept walking.
Me: *counts* Huh.
