This is so American! :)) People sit at these slots for hours, so of course they need a hoagie and beer. Not sure how guns fit into the equation, but you never know. This is Montana. :)

Its a running Alabama joke, actually, which, I believe was taken from an actual store sign in that state, saying "Guns and suds".

Also reminds me of another joke - Alcohol, tobacco and firearms should be name to a convenience store, instead of a federal agency :)

On my first night in Helena, I ate at a restaurant called "Suds Hut." :)) And, yes, they also had a casino! Casino AND fried chicken. :) http://www.sudshut.com/Suds_Hut_Famous_Chicken/Food.html

In Russia casinos are prohibited except several places for whole country already 10 years. Sometimes police closes illegal casinos.
I don't believe in blind luck but I play poker with friends every week. Never was in casino )

I read an article about a huge casino in the Far East, but I didn't realize casinos are prohibited in most places. The article said gaming/gambling laws in Russia are "grey areas," and there'a s lot of underground gaming. Do you bet with money when you play poker with friends, or bet with pretzels? :)

There are some places signed as lottery club of something like this. They seems to exploit some holes in laws. But I never visited it and don't know who did. It seems the weed is far more exciting theme than casinos.
We bet with money. But bets are quite moderate. It's unusual when during evening someone loses or wins more than $10.

When you are bored of poker, I suggest a dice game called "Left Right Center." It's really fun and huge groups of my friends and family play it all the time. I doubt you've heard of it, but you play with a small amount of money (quarters) and it's quite exciting and unpredictable, though no real strategy is involved. Just pure luck. :) Google it, and you can see the very simple rules of the game. I can mail you a pair of the dice if you think your poker crew will enjoy the game.

Interesting.....I wonder why do they have so many?
When my mom was visiting me in America I took her to a casino and it was so funny. She thought that only immoral reach people go to the casino (that's what she was taught by the soviet union propaganda) It was an effort to convince her to enter the place. She was very surprised to see a crowd of retirees there. I took a picture of her playing slot machines, so now I have "compromat"(compromising materials) on her :)
The nature scenes are breathtaking! I love the mountains in the background.

Funny. :) I wouldn't say there's one demographic for gamblers. I've seen all types, and especially the old seniors like to sit at the slots with their cups full of nickels or pennies. On my cruise ship in Alaska, these old people occupied the entire casino floor. I will have a big post about Montana with lots of nature pics, but it seems no one is on LJ today, so I'll wait to publish it on a non-holiday. Do you still celebrate 8 March, even though you're in the U.S. now?

It turned into all girls celebration here(as it supposed to be, in my feministic opinion :)).
Yesterday we went with my girlfriends (9 of us!) to Korean saunas in Toronto, and then to Philippines restaurant. When we were coming back to the US the custom guy asked us what was special about Korean spa, we said that you could get a body scrub "head to tow" only for $40 canadian. Then he said:"I see...you ladies look exfoliated!".

When i have visited the Macao and seen casinos stuffed with chinese people i was a bit surprised.
Before that i has made an opinion that neither alcohol nor prostitution nor beaches are not able to interest the chinese people on vacation, the only Chinese people's weakness is the seafood and selfie with fingers spread wide. But after Macau i realized that the casino is the Achilles heel of the chinese communists.

Did you win, or you just watched the Chinese for ethnographic research? :) I wrote a short post for you today, I hope you appreciate it. Apparently my Russian readers have no opinions on gambling.

Thank you for both, as for brevity as well as for new userpic:)
As for gambling, this is inappropriate activity for people earning a hundred or a couple of hundred dollars a week.

When I was in Las Vegas I lost 1$, and decided - that was enough:)

I agree. It's hard to throw hard-earned money away, with only a small chance you will get something back in return. This is why using money for travel or other personal pleasures is the wiser choice. :)
