Thanks! Does your village in England have a Christmas market? In America, we don't really have good ones. It's a pity because I love them!

I think they have, I am not into shopping too much, so I don't bother to go, particularly because I need to travel quite far for that. I am fully satisfied with supermarket sales. If you have no children around, Christmas is losing 99% of it's excitement. Just pure boredom with extra chores for me.

I agree, children definitely make the holiday more exciting and fun. I have my 7 year old nephew, and he still believes in Santa Claus. :)

Thanks, Olga! Any local holiday markets in California? We have one in DC, but it's very lame. :(

Hello, Shannon! Nice to read you again. I'd like to ask you about american Thanksgiving. Is it celebrated only around a family? Is it a quiet holiday?

Hi! Every family celebrates differently. Some have small, formal gatherings. But my family is huge, and we have an informal celebration. Sort of "pot-luck" style, where everyone brings a dish to the feast. I wrote about it last year. See this post http://peacetraveler22.livejournal.com/59811.html. :)) I'll probably take photos and write about it again this year.

The people of Russia and the USA don't fight, only our politicians do. :) Holiday time is beautiful for me! So fun, however I always feel sad for people who are lonely and have no family during this time. :( Do you stay in Russia for the New Year's celebration?

I've been to Paris three times! It's a magical place, but I'm curious to see more rural parts of France. So, on this trip I'll finally get to view a different area.

Montréal can be a more rural Paris...

It's so expensive to fly anywhere from the U.S.! This ticket cost $1300 USD. :(( Unfortunately, I don't have free flight benefits anymore, so I travel much less.
