Wow. I love the detached and cool feel of this -- how Charlie has been shot and he knows that but instead of being afraid, he accepts it. Like this is how it's always been.
Beautiful flow, and I love the kind of snapshot imagery -- it reads like each little motion has a thousand memories behind it, even though the words you use are very simple.
Excellent job for an amazing (albeit shocking -- I started yelling at the t.v. when I saw it but anyway) scene. Thanks for the read. :)
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it! It was fun to write, although I initially thought I'd have more to say on the subject...perhaps I was still in shock with the awesomeness of that scene. :-)
Also, I did see your post on Trapdoor in the two minutes I've spent checking LJ this week...I promise I'll come back to it to give it a proper read soon! (I have a friend in town this week who is normally overseas...so needless to say I've been a little busy) My apologies...LJ will again take over my life soon as real life has gotten in the way too often as of late! ;-)
Okay, so looking at the date I see how I missed this one (and so cheery for Christmas, too, you bright and happy person, you), but still. Not cool, self. Why didn't you get on me and say, "WTF, read my GD fic"?
Also, I think this is a poem? And I wish that the show had touched on even an iota of this. Him waking up later was meh, okay. But after he got shot? I suppose that's what fic is for.
Anyway, awesomeness, like usual. :-) I love the detachment, and the prison=hospital thing makes me giggle, but it is an angsty, demented giggle, in keeping with the theme.
