this was just so incredibly hot! and you have a way with words - it's amazing.
I truly enjoyed reading this. hotness plus conflict.

any chance that there'll be a sequel? the two of them are so great together and I haven't found any good stories about Jack/Miranda yet. except for this piece of course.
thank you for sharing

Thank you for the always lovely comments :) I'm pleased you enjoyed my foray into new characters. And, I am seriously considering writing a companion piece. But, I can't make any promises as to how soon it will be done...

And, the.subverter over on the Mass Effect section of fanfiction.net has some amazing Jack/Miranda stories. If you'd like to read up on them here's the link to the stories: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/3024585/the-subverter

Thank you! It was actually quite hard to write this scene, so I am happily relieved it was well received.

Damn that was hot and painful. Hate to be Miranda right there.

I'd also love to see a sequel or some kind of companion piece for this. Gah.

Edit:

I figured out what I really liked about this. Usually Jack is angry and impulsive, and it's kind of shocking to see her so controlled just to wound Miranda as deeply as possible.

Whatever desire she felt was channeled into lulling Miranda into complete vulnerability, before being squashed and reigned in at the end to deliver the blow. I wonder how quickly she managed to calculate that devastating win, and if she was satisfied with it after.

Jack is generally depicted as angry and impulsive with very good reason...because she is both angry and impulsive. But, Jack is obviously quite intelligent as well. There is no way she could have survived as long as she did (regardless of her biotic talent) if she weren't smart. And if she desires something, I believe she has the capacity for a great amount of control.

So, I think a scene like this one is possible given her utter loathing of all things Cerberus...and Miranda by extension. But, as with most things about Jack, I'm certain she wasn't satisfied with the end result. She's so rarely pleased about anything. She probably bit off more than she could chew in this situation.

I do really want to write a companion piece to this. And, I may when I get a free chunk of time. Thank you for letting me know what you liked about it; comments like these are always appreciated :)
