With one little lovebird. It's perfect. No such thing as too big for her! She uses just about every square inch of it! If I could afford, and had room for, the double, I'd have that!
1. What kind of cage do you have (and what type of parrot is in it)? How big is it? If you can, give a link.
Currently my two caiques are cage-free in a small room of my house that I've adapted for them. Before that I had them in an HQ Double Flight Cage (aka a "double-wide EFC"). It was a pretty good size for a couple of active caiques, and I didn't feel badly if I couldn't give them out-time for a day or so. Still, the room lets them fly around more, and is much easier to clean. :)
2. What is the minimum cage size you'd find acceptable for a bird of your parrot's species?
I think a single-wide EFC (aka HQ Flight Cage) is probably the minimum size I'd keep a single caique in. They need lots of room to burn off energy.
3. What shape of cage do you think is best for your parrot's species? (e.g. Tall and narrow, wide and short, dome top, etc)My caiques do a lot of climbing, hopping, flying, and playing on the bottom of their cage, so shape isn't a huge issue. I like flat-topped cages because I can set up a play area on top for

HQ Finch to Conure Flight Cage, aka Everybody's Favorite CageTM, aka the EFC, 32"x21"x35". I have a dusky conure (size in between a sun conure and a green cheeked conure, similar energy levels).
2. What is the minimum cage size you'd find acceptable for a bird of your parrot's species?
Definitely need bigger than a typical cockatiel cage, maybe something like 24"x20"x29"?

Wide and short. Kappa tends to hang out at the top of the cage, so a tall cage would result in a lot of unused space at the bottom. She likes clinging in the top corners to sleep (yes, she sleeps clinging to the bars usually, NOT sitting on a perch), so I think a dome top would inhibit this.
4. Do you think there's such a thing as a cage that's too big for your parrot's species?I doubt it. If the cage were more than say,

1. I have a cage that is something like 2ft x 3ft x 4ft. King's cage, maybe? I can't seem to find a label on it. I bought it at a then-local place (The Birdbrain, in Denver), several years ago
