Extinct Parrots

I was hunting around Wikipedia today, and decided to make a list of extinct parrots. Here they are, ordered from longest ago extinct to most recently lost, with links to Wikipedia for more info. For each one I have the common name, species name, where they were located, when last seen, and cause of extinction.

The Cuban Red macaw is so beautiful! What a shame that they no longer exist.

I found myself thinking it was a shame that the pair kept at Vienna apparently didn't breed enough to survive.

Yeah...I'll have to read more about them later. I imagine they probably didn't do well at all in captivity. I wonder if it's possible that they were a subspecies like the quagga and that the genes still exist in some form. There's a group called The Quagga Project which has been breeding zebras until the correct colour comes along.
