Awesome. And it's a good site? I am such a newbie at buying things online, so I tend to not as much as possible. ^__^;;

If it is, I think I just found my girls their new home. Yay! \o/

OH YEAH. I got that cage for my bird and it arrived within a week, shipping was free, all that good stuff. The only thing to be wary of is that the box it comes in is HUGE and it's a bit heavy. You'll also definitely want someone who knows their way with nuts and bolts to help you out!

I live with my dad again, and he'd love the excuse to break out the tools and show his building stuff skills. Possibly skillz. ;)

Thank you so much! I think I may have a new cage in a week and a half (gotta wait for payday).

Wa ha! A question I can answer! For bar spacing for 'tiels the rule of thumb is that if you can get your finger in past the second knuckle the bar spacing is too big.

I personally house my two girls in an EFC (shorthand for everybody's favorite cage) from Windy City Parrot. It refers to the flight cage from either HQ or AE. They are practically the same cage. It seems to be what most people with small birds on the comm prefer. You can also look at these other websites:
windycityparrot.com
birdscomfort.com
birdcages4less.com
parrot-and-conure-world.com
cagesunder500dollars.com
kingscages.com

I haven't been looking at new cages lately.... I swear.... Anyway, I got these links from other people on the comm. They're really great. Enjoy!

Thank you! It's a lot less intimidating to get a list of links than to type in Google "Cockatiel Cage". <3

I was in the same boat a couple of months ago. We were considering adopting a Pionus in the next couple of years and I didn't have the foggiest clue of what kind of cage I needed. Most of those links were provided for me due to a post asking about that.

Hey, do you have a thermo-perch for your beebs yet? Mine absolutely adore theirs! Its on WCP too under either bedtime or bath time I think.... I personally think their great for winter.

What on earth is a thermo-perch? (Aside from Nemo's version which is my shoulder. Perse'd prefer to suffer the chill than touch The Human. Then again, that's the same bird that verbally abuses her perch for being a perch.)

I too have an "EFC" - HQ flight cage from Windy City Parrot. When I got it the cage was relatively cheap and the shipping was free. They ship with extra hardware, which is a good thing as a small hole had ripped in the bottom of the box and spilled some out on my porch, but there was still enough due to the extras. Nobody else has ever reported problems with shipping. The whole thing is pretty heavy and awkward to assemble, so although you can assemble it solo (I did) if you have help convenient I suggest you use it.

When you assemble the cage, you'll think it's huge, but your beebs will love it and get used to it in no time at all. :)
