jesse helms died today. i can without any shame whatsoever say that i reacted with unmitigated delight, and i don't make a habit of taking pleasure in the suffering or death of others. helms is the one person for whom i'll make an exception. jesse helms was a truly evil human being. this is the man who told a friend of his, a woman he'd known for ( Read more... )

let's just hope the cemetary has some sense and puts tile over the mound instead of sod.

also, i'm sure he'll end up buried in oakwood cemetary, and when i get to raleigh in a few weeks (i'll be staying near that cemetary, no less) i'm totally going to go look at the grave so i can bitterly hate all the flowery tributes, all while rejoicing in the fact that i'll never have to hear new hateful quotes from him again. (i repeat: yay!)

you should do what my great-aunt did to a rather disgustingly rude neighbor.

Don't mince words, Soph. Tell us how you really feel. :)

(And know that somewhere right now, Hunter S. Thompson is smiling.)

weeeeell having not been born in a barn, and what with the taboo against speaking ill of the dead and all (i think it's exagerated, but i did grow up with it), i did feel weird expressing such glee at the man's death... but he was truly loathsome. and i take him personally, cuz he made it very very clear for most of my childhood and adolescence that he wanted people like me literally to die. so.... yeah. i know i'm descending to his level, but dude, at least i'm not running around calling myself a christian while i'm doing it. also, i don't have the power to destroy the lives of millions of people. so.... glee 3, guilt .5 .
