Five was in the kitchen, fixing up a sandwich to go with his daily perusal of the journal, when he heard the whoosh and grind of the TARDIS engines, and felt her begin to dematerialize.

"What?!"

But the TARDIS couldn't fly herself, certainly, and he didn't know anyone else who could. That left only one rational possiblity, as his mind whizzed in circles, trying to find an answer - he was gone. The castle had kicked him out, and he was home, somehow, and the Time Council on Gallifrey had activated that damned ridiculous recall circuit.

He dropped the sandwich, lettuce and tomatoes scattering across the floor, and RAN for the console room at top speed. "No, no, no, NO - !"

And at the exact moment that it struck him that there was no way he could've been sent home if he remembered not ever having BEEN home to begin with, he reached the console room, and saw the little girl standing on the chair next to HIS console.

"What."

River is giggling as her tiny frame clings to the edge of the console while the TARDIS dematerializes. Her big blue TARDIS plushie is sitting safely at the bottom of the console. The whirling of the TARDIS, the whoosh whoosh noise - she doesn't like the noise of the brakes being left on, but her arms weren't long enough to reach over and turn the brakes off. The TARDIS understood though and adjusted it's course to make up for what River couldn't reach. It should have been a far bumpier ride, but she transported them safely enough.

"She wanted to go exploring!" River exclaims as she turns to face the Doctor, her face all wide and full of childish glee. "She said so! She gets ever so bored just sitting around! She said she could take me places..."

Realization slowly dawns in Five's eyes as he realizes exactly who this precocious little ball of glee must be. Eleven had told him about her loss - of course, she'd been just a baby, then, but this is Paradisa, and anything's possible. He moves forward and scoops her up, plushie and all.

"Well, then, River, I can't say no to two of my favorite girls, can I? Where do you suppose we'll end up?"

River looks to be about six or seven years old - that's quite a lot of growing she's done in under a week. She doesn't even seem to realize how unusual her growth spurts are.

She squeals with childish glee when he picks her up, throwing her arms around him, "I don't know. She told me how to make her go....but I couldn't reach all the stuff."
