Her dark, blue eyes narrowed at the insult. Her lips uttered just one single word:

“Expelliarmus.”

From her pocket, she took out the wood stick, the wand that was given to her at the same time her astral might was stripped from every ounce of her body, with the same swift motion of someone who unsheathed a sword. She was not risking to be close to him, in such narrow space (a garden, no less), and had him armed as well.

The spell send him stumbling a few steps backwards and his own wooden stick flying into some nearby shrubbery, and for a split second he felt like the arrogant young fool on that day all over again. The resemblance was eerie and hit just the barest bit closer the home than most things would.

Oh, he'd moved on from that place, that time. He would not be made to revisit it. Standing straight and tall, he met her eyes directly, fiercely.

"I have no intent to harm you, Alexiel, but I am hardly surprised you think me fool enough not to realize the merit of cooperation in the situation we see ourselves presented with."

There was an unspoken jab at her own intelligence implied heavily enough he was sure she'd pick up on it. Regardless of strategy, conflict was the easiest way to get her to pay attention.

There he was again, keeping insulting her as this was all her fault. She was tired of this, of him and of this garden. The angel-now-witch, started walk towards him, head high, eyes as frost and intense as his. She held her gaze and replied with a raspy, haughty voice to display her discontent:

“You have done and said enough for this evening.”

She turned her head from him and kept walking, pass him without turning back. This bird did not need a snake to show her the exit. She would do it alone.

Lucifer watched her walk past him, oh he did, heard her words, too, in that especially distanced tone of hers, and he had every intention to just let her go -- but then he whirled around and grabbed her arm. For some reason, he knew this wasn't finished, not for him. Something was lacking, afte all that had been said and done.

He turned her around and met her eyes with an expression that could have been easily mistaken for annoyed calmness, but there was the slightest spark of cold anger in it, something just a little too hasty, too wanting, something, whatever he was missing.

When he touched her, Alexiel’s heart skipped a beat, her wide eyes betrayed the cold performance of an untouchable woman while she turned to watch him. There was passion within her eyes, one no man or woman would unlock fully so easily, not after God took eons in sealed it away. She stared at her “captor”, feeling her body paralyzed by something she couldn’t understand.

What was she waiting for? What was she trying to do with this provocation?

Why must her interaction with Lucifer be so confusing? She had always been certain of her feelings before he came. Always the master of her heart and brain, knowing everything it mattered was Rosiel until…

“Who is the caged bird now, Mister Four Wings?” she whispered cruelly without meaning to cut him, this time.
