Meanwhile, he'd been stuck in a similar state of mind. With all the spontaneous fights popping up, he couldn't stop the fact that his thoughts were slowly turning back to Area Eleven and the rebellion...
But that was in another dimension, and didn't hold any importance in Paradisa.
Sighing, Suzaku sat up from his bed and headed towards the door of his room. It might have been rude to just go into someone's room without a warning, yet...
It somehow felt like Euphie would be expecting him to show up anyway.
So Suzaku walked down all the flights of stairs from the nineteenth floor to the tenth floor then down the hall to Euphie's room (he never did like the elevators much after the incident with one of the twins). Taking another breath, he reached out and knocked on the door.
Yes, it had been a while since they had seen one another, Euphie had been in town a lot or simply alone and he... well, other than his loss he'd been around. She'd seen him help other people, the princess skipped over to him, clasping her hands before her.
"Of course!" Euphie replied brightly and smiled, pausing for a moment to stare at Suzaku before she giggled a little trying to cover the embarassment.
"I'm glad you came, I've missed you." And since his loss was gone... she could see for herself that he was alright and unharmed. (Physically at least...)
He had never been completely fine. Ever since seven years ago, but that was something that he'd learned to ignore, even if it wasn't exactly a healthy method of coping. That was something that no one needed to know about.
"I've missed you too."
Suzaku wanted to embrace Euphie. Just take a moment and hold her, but...
Old habits were hard to kill, so he just settled on smiling.
Well, she had always been the impulsive one, from jumping out the window, to dragging him around, charging into the battlefield and naming Suzaku her knight. It was both a flaw and a strength and she once again relied on the impulsive urge to just... hold him.
The princess threw her arms around him. Had she remembered who she was and the status and rank she held, she might have thought twice about such an action. But here she was just Euphie and he was just Suzaku.
Pulling back at his question, she giggled, "You're staying with me." Euphemia wanted him to... well, be less shy. She trusted him.
Suzaku froze and blinked in surprise when she embraced him. Impulsive as always.
But that was one of the reasons he cared so much for her... It didn't matter here, did it? That he was nothing but an Honorary Britannian, and she was the Third Imperial Princess. That was why he liked it here.
"Staying with you? As in move here, or just stay for the night?"
He wouldn't mind staying closer to Euphie. He would be more than willing to move down to stay with her though.
Even if they had been back home, Euphemia wouldn't have cared. Suzaku was Suzaku and not just... well, that didn't matter they were here now and that was what mattered.
A slight flush crept onto her cheeks and she turned to look down at her hands before looking up again. "Ah... well, um..."
"I don't want to make you uncomfortable," she admitted softly, almost scared that he would suddenly pull away and begin acting like her knight instead of her friend. Special friend... ah, thing. More blood rushed to her face.
"Stay the night."
And then... tucking a strand of hair behind her ear she looked up at him and smiled.
He would have liked a camera to take a photo of Euphie's blush right now. Though if he thought about it, there was no way that he'd be in a better situation right now.
Taking a few moments to work around his anxiety (because somehow, Suzaku had never managed to ignore the protocols and manners he'd learned), he leaned forward and kissed her forehead.
... Before pulling away and smiling through a blush.
Euphemia stood, stunned when he kissed her forehead. She blinked a few times and then smiled, covering a giggle behind her hand, Suzaku really was such a kind person and cute. Although guys didn't seem to like being called cute... ah well, the princess sat down on the edge of the bed.
"I still owe Suzaku the kiss from that time..."
It had been a while ago but Euphie remembered it. She hadn't done it because she was worried about him getting uncomfortable, but since he had kissed her forehead now...maybe...
...Maybe it was okay to?
Not that she would- oh god- she was blushing again. It didn't feel bad or awkward, at least it was all awkward in a comfortable way. If that even made sense.

"Euphie?"

"Suzaku?"
Of course she was waiting for him, although part of her didn't really think he would actually come and... well, Euphie smiled at him.
"Come in."
"I'm glad you came."

"I haven't spoken with you in person for a while."
Which was true. Sure, he knew she was around when he had that loss a while back, and for that he was grateful, but overall?
They haven't actually spoken with each other face to face. (Would the journal even count as contact?) Speaking of which...
"So..." he laughed slightly, "The offer for the sleepover is still valid, right?"
