Suzaku jogged down the last flight of stairs and headed towards the game room.

This would be fun. Sure, he hadn't been practicing his maneuvers as often as he should, but if he could manage to get 97% for a new generation Knightmare Frame without any previous knowledge of how to pilot, then it couldn't end up too poorly for him, right? And if she went all out, then there was no reason as to why he should hold back either.

And if he remembered the controls from when he took a break during the DDR party, then chances are, he'd have a pretty good chance of matching her.

Arriving there, he noticed Cagalli already sitting at the simulator and preparing to start. Or already started.

"Cagalli! Starting without me?"

At hearing the voice, Cagalli turned back and grinned. "Just hoping to get in a bit of practice before we duke it out," she responded as she pushed the reset button. "Ready to go?"

Without waiting for an answer, she turned her attention to the screen as it flickered to life again. She reached over to the empty simulator beside her and flipped the power on. "In case you can't tell, that's your cue to come over here," she said with amusement. "First to get shot down loses?"

He didn't need to be told twice and sat down at the other simulator.

"I can work with that!"

Now all that remained was to set up the options and start.

"To truly make it about skill, maybe we should pick the same options and equipment. That way we can really have some fun," she proposed. "It can't hurt anything, and we can compromise on things if our tastes are too different."

Cagalli pointed to the area where fighter models were selected, "Number four looks good. It's speedy, but still has decent defense and is able to sport a good artillery. You choose the first weapon."

Suzaku couldn't help the smile on his face. He always did enjoy competitions.

"... I'm more used to fighting using mid range weapons but..." he scrolled through the avaliable weapons before selecting one that resembled a particle gun.

"It's funny how this place would have something like this, don't you think?" Green eyes glittered mischieviously as he turned his focus back onto Cagalli. This was going to be fun, whether he won or lost.

Noticing this, she grinned to herself. This was going to be a good time.

"I'm up for anything, actually, so bring it on," she challenged as she selected the same weapon, followed by a machine gun, which was mounted behind the cockpit. "This one next."

Blinking for a moment, she stopped to think. "I guess so. I wonder... maybe if we look hard enough some mobile suits will pop up," she said, laughing at the thought.

He nodded when she selected the next weapon, and did the same. But the mention of mobile suits made him pause.

"Mobile suits?" Suzaku really wanted to know if her world was similar to his. With the wars and fighting in Frames... And the needless murders of thousands of people.

Shaking his head lightly and laughed. "That wouldn't be a bad idea! Maybe then we could compare and see if they're alike or not."

"Mobile suits," she repeated in affirmation. "Though, I'd be quite happy if they stayed home. There's enough here to worry about already like who gets turned into a girl next." She glanced over, eying him suspiciously. "Maybe it'll be you."

Her head shook a bit at his suggestion. "That would be neat, but we'd have to worry about who got a hold of them. Some of the people here wouldn't play nice."

Cagalli turned back to the screen and finished her selection. "Ready to start?"

He blinked in surprise before laughing at her comment about him turning into a girl. Here's to hoping that it wouldn't happen.

"Whenever you are."

For the moment, he's going to focus on the game, and nothing else.

"Right then," she replied as she turned back to her screen. "Let's go."

At the sound of the game starting, Cagalli moved her hands to the joystick and narrowed her eyes. It had been a while since she had done this, but with a bit of practice on the simulator here, she had eased right back into it again.
