You might be able to get some assistance as far asfrom Georgia's EBT/Foodstamps program. You can apply online here and it only takes a few days to get approved.

I know foodstamps can feel like a blow to your morale, but it's a surprisingly easy process and it actually helps fund local farmers, so in a way, it's actually helping out the economy. I'm currently using EBT, but I plan to get off the program as soon as I'm hired.

Not necessarily. When you fill out the online application there should be a section where you can account for anything that might be worth considering an exception, like being shorted a disability check, medical condition, your money getting sucked up by your transportation woes. Look at it this way, if they turn you down, you haven't lost anything, and if they grant you benefits, even if they're only partial, you've got something you can stretch. Give it a try, is what I suggest.

I forget now what you charge to do icons and realized you know, I don't have any by any you. How did I manage that piece of fail!!!???? and I have way to many open icon slots. give me a reminder on what you charge, and if you like, I'll boost the signal over my way for folks to get a custom icon made and send them to this post.

Could you look for a car in the $6K to $7K range? Seems like that payment would be much more do-able. I couldn't even afford the $300/month.

and as I mentioned long ago, kind of gruesome as it sounds, check the obits for little old men dying..quite often their vehicles are n good shape and the wives don't drive, or htey are going ot live with the kids or something and are selling the car. If you go and explain your case they may be willing to meet your price or even less.
