Ugh, that's SO unfair. You totally deserve to have some time off. I'm so sorry... I hope you still get to go. I'm sorry you aren't being appreciated at all.

I didn't get to go. My last resort was having Aaron pick me up after work, but that didn't happen because you have to check in at Breitenbush by 1pm or they give your cabin to someone else.

So I'm here, hating life and sitting around moping. My shift for tomorrow is covered, so at least I don't have to work then, but I know I'm just going to sit around the house and be angry at my coworkers.

I know what you mean. You put in extra time, come in way early, stay way late, and they still expect you to do more. My work was getting really bad.. I'd come in 45 minutes early every day, stay an extra hour or so if they needed me to, do a bunch of shitty bitch work that I shouldn't have had to do, and still I was getting yelled at because someone deposited some fives or forgot to rotate the olives or something. The other manager and I finally confronted the boss about it and it's gotten better.. but yeah, they take you for granted sometimes.

Also, my work tends to punish you if you request time off, even if it's for a legitimate reason (to be fair, some people request time off for really stupid reasons, whereas other people, i.e. me, usually request time off to pick up family from the airport or something). It's stupid because we all need time off at times... the boss leaves to go to basketball games all the time, and yet we get punished for visiting family (well, I can't get punished since I'm on salary, but everyone else ( ... )

It's not like I'm there seven days a week bending over backwards for people. I only work four days a week, but I RARELY request a day off. Chris was calling me selfish because he thought I was trying to go on a vacation, but Breitenbush isn't a resort. It's like a spiritual retreat, which is something I've been meaning to do for a while now. I'm getting way too stressed out by work and my family and money and the looming horror that is college ( ... )

And.. have fun in NYC! I've never been that far east... someday, I hope.
