Everyone, I need your help again! With the very last disc of Being Human on its way, I realized that I don't have anything lined up to watch next! I need to catch up on various old faves that I've fallen behind on (Mad Men, Weeds, Dexter--though I'm waiting for Dexter to come out on dvd because I got sick of searching for new episodes), and those ( Read more... )

ahsdjashdkahsdkah I want to skip ahead to apocalypse! And Mark Pellegrino! XDDD

BTW I kind of want the US Being Human on dvd. For the pretty. XDD I of course want the UK too, ESPECIALLY the first season for the most friends-hanging-out funtimes. ;D But...I have these Bishop/Aidan plot bunnies and I just need to see those boys again! :P

That is exactly what I've been wanting, something to fill the LOST void. I mean, nothing will ever compare, but something to just "hold me over" for now. I know that doesn't make sense, lol. But BH was an amazing gem of a show and I'll be sad to stop watching it. :((

Ahhh, thanks so much for all the input! I tried to think of more shows to add to the list to vote for, but I was drawing a blank. XDD I'm not super picky, genre-wise, so that makes it hard to decide.

I have actually never watched Alias, so that's another one to look for! Daviddddd Anderssssss. Pretty much a reason to watch ANYTHING (I've been wanting to re-watch Heroes but I only have the first 2 seasons, lol, and I know it will just be horrible in hindsight XDDD).

I'm considering TVD, because I see it around lj and it looks like a fun fandom. But True Blood comes back this week and that might be vamp overload. I don't like them thaaaaaaaat much, lol. :P

I swear, Netflix is making me a tv whore. I barely ever get movies on it, lol. XDD

I don't really like vampires either! And it's a shame because I really do like immortal characters. It's so hard to find a non-vampire immortal (just Wolverine, Adam Monroe, Richard and Jacob spring to mind)! *gnashes teeth* I think that's why I can't get into Vampire Diaries. Between Being Human and True Blood, I'm kind of at my limit.

We clearly have the same taste in men. :) David Anders has been my ultimate, hands-down forever tv boyfriend since the first moment I laid eyes on him in 2003 (I discovered Alias only in S3 when it was on its way down). He's actually in the Vampire Diaries as a recurring role, but not as a cool guy (I watched his episodes because I am super in love with him but didn't really care for the character). But his character on Alias is literally the BEST. THING. EVER. (and has a hell of a lot more screentime). He's a lot like Eric from True Blood, only less evil and more mercenary. The same deadpan snark and machinations but not as awful. You will love him with all your heart.

I will stop now.

I voted TVD because you mentioned guilty pleasure show and honestly, it's television crack once you get past the first four episodes. It's fun, there's lots of banter, terrific mythology, good characters (particularly the female characters, which is refreshing), and Alaric, light of my life. ;)

But you really can't go wrong with SPN either. I marathoned it last year and went sailing through the discs like a madwoman. Season 4 was almost too angsty for me, but outside of that it's my go to show when I'm in the mood to watch something quick and fun these days.

I will probably watch all these shows eventually, it's just deciding which to watch first! SPN seems like such a big committment, LOL. XDDD

I was really surprised at the TVD fandom, just because the premise sounded so...Twilight-y to me! I guess I shouldn't judge a book by its cover! XDD And dude, I read that one TVD fic you got in Five Acts, the dinner-and-dancing one? I'M KIND OF SOLD JUST BASED ON THAT. If there is man-love, bromance, or any of the above, I'm sold. :DDDD

My only qualm with starting TVD now is that True Blood comes back soon. And that's a lot of vamps! XD

The pilot ep (and the first four after) are rather Twilight-y. It took three tries for me to get into the show, but if you can get over the first few eps where they're spending too much time on football playing vampires and what have you, it suddenly gets legitimately good. And season two is even better.

As for bromance, Alaric/Damon is phenomenal, although I constantly complain that there's never enough Alaric. (And if you watch the show, you can read all of the awesome Alaric/Damon fic that janie_tangerine has written, she's my enabler for that ship). But Damon and Stefan also have this terrific, twisted brotherly relationship that does crazy things to my heart ( ... )

Vampire Diaries! It's AMAZING. And only two seasons, as opposed to Supernatural's...um, I don't know how many. And it also has lots and lots of characters, and most of them are super cool. And in the beginning you'll think it's just a guilty pleasure, and then all of a sudden you'll be obsessed. And it's so so so so pretty. (Although I think Supernatch might be as well?) Seriously, I never would have guessed Ian Somerhalder could do such things to my ovaries.

Lots of "and"s in that paragraph. Wow.

I actually might watch True Blood now, because I enjoyed TVD so much (I finished it a few days ago).

Yay! I want something that I will get obsessed with! XDD I still can't get over the fact that it's BOONE. BOONE is the sexy angsty vampire! XDDDD

Oh you don't watch True Blood? It's GREAT. But I think it gets better as it goes on, season 3 was definitely my favorite. So don't give up on it! But it's hard to obsess over it, for me, because I've read the books so I know what's gonna happen most of the time. But I still love all the actors and it's really funny and sexy and bloody and just ahhhh, watch it!

Oh man, it's totally obsession material, once you get past the teen-romance growing pains of the first few episodes. And dude, it didn't even take me five seconds to forget about Boone. The sexy angsty vampire has about 250 percent more presence. Like, he was pretty on Lost, but on Vampire Diaries he's just...I don't think I even have a strong enough word. And the rest of the cast is almost as gorgeous.

Ooh, cool! I haven't watched any of True Blood yet, it's just an idea I'm entertaining, but it's looking like I might go for that one over The Good Wife because Vampire Diaries got me so hooked. I want more sexy vampires! And I've been watching so many shows that were books lately. Is this a growing trend?
