Well, according to the article I read yesterday, dizziness and headaches are the key symptom that differentiates H1N1 flu from seasonal flu. And they usually clear up before the breathing difficulties start.
Not that I want to be a scare, or anything, but you should perhaps call telehealth. And it's recommended that if you have any flu symptoms at all, to stay isolated - what your immune system may fight off, the massage therapist's or manicurists ageing mother might not - so try to keep it quarantined until you're clear, regardless of which type of flu it is...
It's very sad that we live in such a commitment-focused culture - it's really discouraged to cancel plans or stay home from work or take a day off when we're sick. Health Canada is really trying to promote to workers and employers that it is *more* ethical to stay home than keep on plugging through the misery.
Hope you feel better soon, hon. Call telehealth... 1-866-797-0000
Yesterday morning I felt fine. By noon, I thought I'd strained my back. By 4 I realized it wasn't just my back. By 8 I was in bed. This morning I have a fever of 101F and have every flu-like symptom I can think of.
Since I am perpetually preaching at my proteges that work is not as important as they are, I am leading by example. I sent an email to everyone, and am staying home. Given how hard the flu has hit Oregon (many many schools shut down due to lack of teachers/students), I'm guessing I'll be home for the next 7 days until quarantine is over. I don't need to be spreading stuff to other people.
Sorry to hear about the dizziness. I'm suffering with you, so if misery loves company, then you're in good company (I flatter myself).
This sounds really serious. I'm glad you're going to get it looked at. Even if they tell you that it's just a regular 'flu and to go home and sleep, you will have the peace of mind that you know.
Are you at work? If you think you might have H1N1, why are you at work?

My asthma has been bad for over a week and then the other symptoms started.
On the news last night they said if you have a fever plus 2 of the other symptoms to go to the doctors.
they other symptoms were: nausea, headache, achy, coughing, sneezing and possibly a few others
oops back to work.
