Tomorrow there will be twelve people eating dinner here, if everybody shows up who might. I began the week with a stubborn migraine, but as of right now have dusted and vacuumed the sunroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, and media room, much to the annoyance of the cats. Lady Jane Grey, the newest arrival, has a very good "I do not ( Read more... )

I always do, but at least it's entertaining. A lovely day to you too.

We're having about 12 here too - I keep being surprised that people think that's a lot. I guess I'm used to the Thanksgivings of my childhood where we had between 20-30, usually.

Lydia thoroughly disapproved of our cleaning spree yesterday. It made her very talkative - I think she was telling us we should forget it and just go to work. So far this morning she's been fast asleep and barely opened an eye to look to make sure I didn't have the vacuum,

Have a lovely Thanksgiving!!

We only have eleven chairs suitable for pulling up to a table. We could get a second card table and four more folding chairs, I guess, but storing them would be interesting. We would not have space for 20.

Cats do approve of routine, though some of ours also clearly like novelty. Arwen liked that somebody was up and about and doing human things in the kitchen. She was less sanguine about the vacuum, naturally.

Thanks, and you have a fine time too!

It all sounds wonderful. We will be going out to some friends who live outside Stillwater and if we are lucky, there will be wild turkeys trotting single file through their backwoods.

I really love that wild turkeys have become a thing that one can see. I hope you do.

Ah, the annual pie post. ;-) How nice that the pies were more cooperative this year!

Have fun!

Every year I wonder what they'll do, but it was really pretty sedate. I think I caught them off-balance by doing things in a different order and baking the pumpkin pies before the mince. This isn't the most efficient use of the oven, but it may have confused them.

Judy has pronounced the cranberry sauce as good, but needing more ginger.

Then again, she want's it to be half ginger and half cranberry.

That would be good, but not much like cranberry sauce. A ginger-cranberry relish! However. Some of the dinner guests don't like a whole lot of ginger but found the amount last year to be tasty.
