Well people, there’s been some resolution on the house front. In a kind of non-resolution way. So here’s what happened. We complained about the hell neighbours. HousingNZ told them to shut up. I would suggest approaching the judge, explaining your concerns, and asking for the opportunity to be examined by the judge, and possibly by a legal professional appointed on behalf of the defendants, in a closed session. Make it clear that this situation does matter to you, and that Noise Control's withholding of complainants' details is testimony to the fact that such disclosure can lead to further breaches of the peace. In essence, go for the 'maintenance of the peace' side of things, because that is what the justice system is all about.

I would also suggest, because you are, after all, in a print-media job, promoting stories on this very topic so as to generate some societal momentum towards ensuring that fewer people have to suffer exactly this.

Neither of those are at all bad ideas. I had thought of approaching the judge, but when I asked about it, the HNZ guy said that the judge said the tenants have a right to know who is accusing them. That just seems idiotic to me, but perhaps I'll ask again. And as for an article on the subject, I certainly have enough people to interview!

freaky, huh? You'd think that in GB's area you'd be more likely to escape this kind of thing, but apparently not. And yes, we're selling ASAP.
