How can JD Robb be so freaking awesome? How? *ponders*

After I finished the new "In Death" book "Promises in Death" I just couldn't leave Eve and Roarke's world... I had to stay there a bit longer and bask in the awesome-ness of this series, so I'm re-reading some of my favorite ones: so. much. love.. *happy sigh ( Read more... )

Come sta, Gio?

Is PD Robb a pseudonym for Nora Roberts, or v.v.? Yes, I've read two books written by her, but probably I borrowed the wrong ones. I should have started from the beginning of the series. This way, I understood nothing. I mixed up the past, future and present events, and I failed to come to grips with their love.

I'm ok, and you? ;-)

JD Robb is indeed Nora Roberts although the style of the "In Death" series is quite different from her other books (hence the different name, I think).

You should definitely read the books in order and from the beginning (and possibly in English), otherwise you'll miss all the little (or not so little) nuances and most of all, the characters' evolution through the series.

Give it another chance if you can, this series is totally worth it! *nods*

Yep, love her books, even was inspired to write my own BJ fic that had some elements I like from those stories.

I don't think I've read them all, but many of them. Nora Roberts is consistently a good author, IMO.

Ah! Interesting... ;)

That's the thing that totally amazes me...she wrote, let me think...34 (?) books (short novels included) in the "In Death" series and even tho some books are definitely better than others, I can honestly say I enjoyed them all. And each and every one of them brought something to the general storyline and to the characters.
I think that being still so good after all these books is pretty amazing. :-)

Another die-hard fan here "waves" I have every friggin one and have re-read them 20 times! I adore Eve and Roarke is every woman's dream husband. I love the plots and the murder mystery never gets old. I really love to reread Naked In Death, when they first meet and he keeps that gray button and has it to this day! "Swoons"

Yes, yes, me too! :D

Tell me about it. :-) I'm usually a pretty non-gushy "cut and dried" kinda girl...but Roarke...*happy sigh*

Me too! After I read a new book in the series I always, always re-read the first book (and usually the others at least till the marriage *g*). They were so different back then, but the intensity was already mind-blowing! ♥

*waves to fellow JD Robb addict* :-)

Awww, that's wonderful! I'm always a bit afraid to mix fantasy (the books) and reality (the authors) but I'm sure she's pretty wonderful, isn't she?

It was actually kind of fun she is a very nice lady and her husband owns this little country bookstore. Only place I would have gone to meet her.

Hi darling!

Which new site are you talking about? *ponders*

Am going out to get J D. Robb.

Yay! Remember to start from the first book (she wrote 34 of them and you'll have to read them in order to fully appreciate the story) and, well, it's not "deep", philosophical literature, but it's entertaining and addictive and fun!
