Well, I was wrong about Luxembourg. Only the youth hostel was hidden down the bottom of the ravine along with some old buildings. Nearest major building down the bottom of the ravine was a monastery converted into a prison into a barracks into a civic office into an international gathering hall, and then have it used part-time as a small concert ( Read more... )

Yes, I am in Berlin, a city reputedly named for being founded on a swamp (German's do seem to have a few littoral names for things). Have not yet recovered from Amsterdam, but I am still blaming that on not stopping for a rest until yesterday.
