I have been solicited to be part of a live discussion tomorrow on Radio 3 'Nightwaves' to coincide with release of movie Kinsey in UK and publication of TC Boyle's new novel on Kinsey and his circle. This involves going to the press showing in Soho (drinks and sandwiches!!), getting a free copy of book to glance at, and then going to Broadcasting ( Read more... )

kinsey, media, crabbiness, name-tags

I am so, so glad that the conferences I usually go to tend to have the kind that has that clip and the option of the around-the-neck string.

After a Renaissance Society of America meeting in which all the name tags were printed in 12 pt non-bolded type, which necessitated standing quite close to read them, I'm a big believer in large type for name tags. And strings to go around necks, since I'm fairly safe in saying that anyone who needs a nametag is going to have a neck.

name tags that have clips that assume that they will only be being worn by men in suits with lapels to attach them to

YES. I now clip mine to my purse, but that's because my employer is lax about enforcing the always-in-sight rules.

Oooh, brilliant. Should be at home to hear it, too. And Nightwaves does allow 'Listen Again' for a week, according to their website, in case anyone misses it.

Excellent--both for oursin's appearance and prestonuk's link. :)

Heh - now people all over the world can hear me going 'Duh!' and 'Blibble'. (I've been galloping through the Kinsey novel - not quite seeing the point, or at least, not considering it that much worth doing - and dreamt about Kinsey and his research team last night.)

That sounds a bit alarming! Good luck tonight, and I hope you enjoy the screening.

I dreamt about livejournal last night, presumably brought on by reading my flist just before I went to bed; lots of lj people meeting up with Davy Jones and some of his sailors from Pirates in the Deep Green Sea in Westminster Cathedral... I don't (want to) know what that says about my brain.
