Honestly? I have no idea. My theory is that Hugh Jackman is just so handsome and charming that no one who knows him is cruel enough to tell him to his face that no, in fact, he cannot actually sing. He is, however, quite talented at acting. And very handsome and charming. You could do worse, Hugh. Please stop singing. At least in public ( Read more... )

NO I DID NOT LIKE ANGELS & DEMONS THE BOOK. NO NO NO. IN FACT I WOULDN'T INSULT CLASSICS LIKE A MILLION LITTLE PIECES BY EVEN REFERRING TO IT AS A BOOK. IT'S A "THING."

The only good parts of The Da Vinci Code movie/thing:
1.) Paul Bettany's ass,
2.) Ian McKellen,
3.) It was kind of funny, sometimes, like when people died.

IS JUDE LAW IN THIS MOVIE??? HOW DID I MISS THAT? WOW. Now I'm reserving tickets. About nine of them, so I can stretch out.

I too look enthusiastically forward to RDJ/Jude Law smut. I suspect that may be the only good thing coming out of that awful-looking movie. See above. (I wish I could make better crying emoticons.)

Haha, Hugh IS charming. I dunno, I liked him. I think he has a good stage presence. I don't like his voice as much as some other actors that I think would kill if they did a stage show though. I think he's got kind of one of those bellowy voices that kind of only works with certain shows? Or maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about, haha.

I'm sad that I still haven't seen Sean Penn in Milk.

Watchmen is open in London? Huh...

Oh, I like him a lot. Really! Also looking forward to Wolverine. And he does have good stage presence! He is also really hot. I just, I don't know. I was kind of cowering in my seat every time he started a song. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations for live show-tune singing. It didn't, you know, change the way I feel about him (SQUEEEE!) or anything.

Milk was one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen in my life. I came out of the theater sobbing. Is the DVD out yet? I was planning to buy it, but I guess I haven't done a good job of keeping track.

Watchmen is open in London? Huh...
I know! How weird is that? They've been marketing it so aggressively, I was sure the world premiere would be covered better than the Berlin Wall coming down. It's really odd.

Nice icon, by the way :]

Saw "Australia" here with some friends, and the Korean majority of the audience hated us because we all sighed very audibly and shifted about in our seats whenever Hugh Jackman moved, basically. :( DEAR HUGH JACKMAN: I love you. I'm sorry I never realized it before. :( :( :( Australia is the shittiest movie ever made. :( :( :( :( :(

Awww! I'm kind of growing to love Korea, by osmosis and extension, like the quirky best friend in the bad ladies'-movie grows to love the rakish bad boy she warned the protagonist off dating. Which (I guess) means you'd better hope Korea and I don't run off and have an affair together. Although that may lead to your initiating a repartee-based romance with a hotly disheveled British guy and, uh, clothing montages? I think the last romantic comedy I watched starred Meg Ryan, sorry. Also: I am old.

As for Australia: Yeesh. I tend to think nine-tenths of the most interesting parts of Australian history probably did not involve brittle-looking white people. Or show tunes.

As for you: If absence makes the heart grow fonder, then the next time I talk to you my heart is going to hump your leg. Just a warning.

Do you Tweet? I just opened an account and in lieu of my having squat to say on LJ I'm actually considering using it.
